Alexandra & Robert’s Wedding at Mastro’s Ocean Club

Alexandra and Robert celebrated their wedding at Mastro’s Ocean Club in The Woodlands, combining an elegant setting with a relaxed portrait experience along The Woodlands Waterway.

Their day had a refined and timeless look. Alexandra wore a beautifully simple fitted gown with a deep V-neckline, delicate buttons and a softly draped back. Her white floral bouquet, accented with gentle greenery, completed the look without taking attention away from the clean silhouette of her dress.

Robert wore a classic blue suit with a floral-patterned tie, white boutonnière and warm brown leather details. Together, their clothing created an effortless color palette that looked especially beautiful against the trees, water and modern architecture surrounding the Waterway.

Before beginning their portraits, Alexandra and Robert shared a quiet first look beside the water. Robert’s expression as he saw Alexandra brought an immediate warmth to the photographs. It was a private moment that allowed them to slow down, take each other in and enjoy a little time together away from the activity of the day.

The Woodlands Waterway gave us a wonderful variety of portrait settings within a short walk. Tree-lined paths created soft, filtered light, while the water added texture and movement in the background. The nearby architecture brought a polished, modern quality to the gallery without overpowering the couple.

Rather than making every photograph feel heavily posed, I gave Alexandra and Robert room to interact naturally. They walked hand in hand, laughed together and settled into the experience at their own pace. That ease is visible throughout their gallery, particularly in the photographs where they are simply looking at one another.

Alexandra’s smile became one of the defining elements of the collection. Whether Robert was whispering something to her, pulling her close or making her laugh, her happiness felt completely genuine. Those unscripted expressions gave the portraits an emotional quality that could never be created through posing alone.

We also made space for a few more editorial photographs. The clean lines of Alexandra’s gown, Robert’s tailored suit and the structured surroundings of the Waterway lent themselves beautifully to polished compositions. Even in the more directed portraits, their connection remained at the center of every frame.

One of my favorite images captures Robert dipping Alexandra beside the water. It feels romantic and celebratory, with her gown flowing through the frame and the tree-lined path extending behind them. Another close portrait shows them leaning into each other and laughing in the sunlight—the image now featured as the cover of their gallery.

A selection of black-and-white photographs adds another layer to their story. Without color, the focus shifts entirely to expression, movement and connection. One intimate frame captures Robert kissing Alexandra near her temple as she smiles directly toward the camera. It feels elegant, playful and completely true to who they were together.

The contrast between Mastro’s Ocean Club and The Woodlands Waterway made this wedding especially distinctive. The restaurant offered a sophisticated setting for their celebration, while the Waterway gave them space to breathe, move and create portraits surrounded by greenery and light.

Alexandra and Robert’s gallery is a perfect example of how wedding portraits can feel elevated without becoming stiff. Gentle direction helped create flattering compositions, but their genuine affection gave the photographs their life.

Their final collection feels romantic, joyful and timeless—a reflection of an elegant wedding celebration and two people who were clearly happiest simply being together.
